In the past 20 years, the workplace has changed a lot. Work stress has gone up dramatically and job satisfaction has gone down, resulting in unfulfilled employees and unproductive corporate cultures. In fact, unhappy employees cost the US between $450-550 billion each year in lost productivity.
Our goal is not to take all your stress away. In fact, some stress is good; it drives us to get more done and achieve more than we would without it. However, we all have a “tipping point” where stress goes from being a positive driver of performance to something that impacts us negatively.
Mindfulness helps us learn to recognize stress and it’s impact. This awareness empowers us to make conscious choices about how to manage it so it doesn’t manage us.
